Domestic Microfinance Lending

ACCION's core lending program serves business owners in NYC and New Jersey who, for reasons ranging from an insufficient credit history to lack of time in business, are unable to access traditional sources of credit.  Our specialized loan products, some of the most cutting-edge in domestic microfinance, include:

• Business Term Loans from $500 to $50,000
• Lines of Credit up to $25,000
• Start-Up Business Loans for individuals with as little as 0-6 months in business
• Credit Development Loans up to $1,500 to help individuals establish a credit history

  

Financial Literacy Programs and Business Training

At ACCION, financial literacy programs and business advisory services are a key element to our clients' success.  All clients are offered one-on-one business and financial training free of charge.  ACCION offers the following programs and benefits:

• OnTRAC: the Training, Resource, and Advising Center - Our in-house financial literacy center provides one-on-one technical assistance and business training seminars.
• Ambassador Program - Clients who have demonstrated a commitment to their community are invited to participate in this professional development program and connect with valuable networking circles.
• Network of local resource providers - Our strong relationship with a variety of partner organizations ensures our clients have access to the tools needed for financial and business success.

  

Women's LINK

ACCION recognizes that women face unique challenges to starting and growing a business.  Women's LINK provides women microentrepreneurs access to small business loans, financial literacy resources, and community networks to help women overcome these challenges.  We also provide women with personalized quarterly business training and other opportunities to improve their business and financial skills. Since the inception of Women's LINK in 2001, ACCION has more than tripled the number of women in our outstanding portfolio, growing the number of women served to 37%.

 

Single Stop

Single Stop is a Robin Hood Foundation initiative that seeks to reduce poverty in NYC by giving underserved individuals the right advice about public benefits, legal counsel, social services and financial assistance (including budgeting and help solving debt problems). ACCION New York supports this initiative by providing one-on-one financial assistance to Single Stop clients at sites citywide.
